No Data Service Every Day

Kitone
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

Is anyone else out there having issues with a daily drop-out of data services, every day, through normal business hours?

This amounts to no service, as that's when I most need data. And I don't have WiFi.

The system erroneously has me in Montreal. I'm west of Ottawa.

I recently switched to the 90-day $34 plan.

Anyone complained successfully to the CRTC about non-delivery of services?

K.

@Kitone

The first question I would ask is does this occurrence take place at completely random locations or generally within a certain area?

If it generally occurs within a certain area then it's environmental. It tends to happen to me as well within a certain stretch of highway in the middle of a moderate size city.

@Kitone  It's not CRTC that addresses complaints but CCTS.  But first you would need to give Public Mobile a chance to address the issue.   Raise a ticket using the chatbot icon bottom right of the page but if that doesn't work send a private message to them using this link

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437

An agent will reply at the envelope icon top right or tap ypur avatar for Messages.

If you're doing speed tests that show Montreal that doesn't mean the system thinks you're in Montreal, it's just the test server that was picked by the speed test.

Now and then, I do lose data for 1 minute, but it's a one-off. I turn airplane mode and and off, and it fixes itself.

If you have a physical SIM card and access to another phone, you could try to put your card there to test and see if issues still persist to determine if it's the phone or the card.

Where does it show that you are located in another city than where you live? Maybe you can update your account profile.  Sign onto My Account and click on profile see what address is there and update if needed. You might have to click on the pencil icon.

Complaints should be done whether successful or not. You want to get your voice out there so that changes if needed can be done, based on the number of complaints that the company has against them.
