I just signed up today, and ported my number over from fido. My data works and calling out works but I cannot receive calls or send \ receive texts.
Why is this happening?
I have restarted my phone about 8 times now.
Any ideas?

Doubtful you will get a response tonight. Meanwhile, if you need to make calls try an application like that from fongo.com. It provides free calling across Canada from wherever you are connected to wifi (or on cellular data).

If you put back the Fido sim you should be able to use your phone and receive calls. Once it stops working that means the port is 100% completed and at that point just re-insert the PM card and everything should work

Not if you ported your number over
@Dunkgirl Not necessarily. I think you are confusing this with messages from everyone else. The message doesn't have to be routed outside the network so even with an incomplete port public mobile can still contact you with that number. Which is why you can during the porting process call yourself and text yourself with 2 phones to each phone for a short period of time that have the same number.
When people see this, they think something went wrong because they do not understand how the Public Mobile processing works.
@cavemantorontoluckily there is a great community to spread the knowledge around

@missorange Activating a new account your features will work immediatly. If you ported things are different there is back end routing that needs to be done.

@Cbr2414 , how long has it been since you submitted the number port? If it's has been at least 2 hours, your port has failed. You will need moderator team assistance to resubmit the number port. The moderator team can be reached via private message using this link. Please include a detailed description of the issue and the required resolution. @Cbr2414 How long ago did you port?
If you just ported, it takes some time, every hour or so remove your battery / restart your phone. It can take time on your first port over and there can be weird issues for a short period of time.
If the issue continues you may have a partially completed port but most often ports just take a bit longer. One of the moderators can take a look, see if they need to do something to move it along. Click this to send them a message
