Hey Public Mobile - why can't I have this plan? I've been loyal for years and would really like to make the switch. Do I really need to cancel, port to a new carrier, and then come back to get your offers?
Would be swell if you could hook me up with the new plan. Thanks.

I do the three month subscription and have 150gb for $102. At the time, 50gb/mth seemed rational but I have absolutely no use for that much data. With the current US tensions, I don't have a whole lot of travel planned but I want the option available to me in the future. I've bought add-ons the last couple of times I traveled, but I wouldn't mind switching to the promo plan. Not much in the way of cost savings, but future proofing for flexibility is what I am after.
And no, the promo plan isn't available to me in th "Change Subscription" section.
I didn't have high hopes PM would help, but it's free to ask the question.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I hate that porting may be the only way to solve what should be a quick fix.

What is your current plan?
What is your desired plan?
When you check your "Change Subscription", would you by chance have a plan available that is both cheaper than your current plan and your desired plan?
If so, one possible workaround may be to change to the cheaper plan whereupon the desired plan may then become available to you to change to afterwards. I stress the words "possible" and "may" because YMMV.
IF this strategy works for you, it is better than porting out because you maintain your existing PM account and you retain any referrals that you have earned over the past years.
Unfortunately, this strategy takes several steps and if you change plans immediately instead of upon renewal, you end up wasting the money that you paid on each change.
Good luck.

Unfortunately, if its not in your Account, yeah you can't switch to it. Many have asked with a negative response.
Your option to port out and back is the only option yeah. This might or might not be worh it though as you will loose your rewards to date, have to purchase a new sim and create new email.
