New SIM not registering on PM network

xbullet

Hi all,

I'm almost thinking my PM to our moderators have simply disappeared somewhere because its been 3 days without any sort of a reply. My problem is that I opened new account, activated a SIM, selected a plan, paid for plan. Everything went just fine on line as to creating account, activating SIM, acquiring a new PM number and payment. Problem is SIM card won't register on PM network and service unavailable. Tried SIM in three phones, two of which were previously used on PM. PM network found, but "failed to register on network" error received each and everytime.

Anyone offer suggestion as to a fix, or a way to get a moderator to assist me.

Thanks everyone, turns out that the issue was on PM technical side. I finally got an message back yesterday saying they'd sent request to technical, and today the phone is up and running.... yeah! One other thing, I did attend a Walmart (Wasaga Beach) for a new SIM to try as someone suggested. Total waste of time, fellow behind the counter was clear and stated Walmart Wreless doesn't sell SIM cards & only have stock for their own in-store activations. He told me that policy was district wide. I never got a chance to try WOW boutique in Barrie, so I can't comment there.

Thanks everyone!!!

If it turns out to be the sim I would ask for a credit to the account as a good will.

Thanks, I've pretty much resigned myself to a long drive to purchase another SIM. Real shame PM works their moderators to the point of over 48hrs to reply to a message only they can fix.

Oh well, once its working hopefully it'll keep working.

Cheers

Thanks, I'm figuring bad SIM too, seems ashamed to pay for a second one though.

If the sim doesn't work in other phones that are known to work with pm. Then it is either a sim issue or an account issue. If it was me and to isolate the issue I would buy a new sim card and do a sim change. Yes Sims don't usually go bad but it's really the only thing left you can do w/o mod help

What phone model is it?  I am thinking about compatibilty since your phone number is working.

On second thought, scratch that. Your phone should be at least partially compatible since you can see the network.  I say at least partially because it's possible that you are seeing a Public Mobile LTE network (which doesn't work for phone calls), but that doesn't explain why you can't connect to it.

If that is where you sent the PMs, they are being received and handled in the order in which they are received.  The backlog is around 48 hours.  Please don't send multiple PMs for the same issue.  You will backlog the system further.

@xbullet, did you port a number or create a new one?

I think they opened a new number?

@xbullet, did you port a number or create a new one? It's possible there was an issue with the port of that was the case.

Due to the error you you are receiving,I wonder if the SIM is damaged or defective. Make sure to check your self-serve account as mentioned by @RobertQc, and can you confirm that the phone you are using is currently working with another SIM? Just to make sure it is not a phone issue.

When you log into "my account" https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/ does it show the plan is currently active? Account Status: Active?
