Hi All,
I've been a member since last year 🙂 Very happy with my service!! So much so that I recommended my cousin move from Bell to PM.
Because she needs assistance, I helped her port the number and set up her account last night at approx 7:15-7:30pm ET - she has yet to join the community - and while she can make calls out (no problems) and her data seems to be working - if anyone calls her number it goes straight to her old (Bell) voicemail. She has been able to set up her PM voicemail so that's not a problem.
I'm curious if the port is going to go through or if she will need assistance from a Mod here. My cousin's problem is; she has no computer access (doesn't currently own one) and she's a bit challenged at posting in general (hence the reason why I'm asking this question for her).
She's on an iPhone SE with the 90 day plan, Canada wide talk, international tex and 6GB data.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi there!
Thanks for your response. My dad's ported number seemed to come right within a few hours. No more help needed! However i have since tried to port my parents' landline number to my mum's new sim card with public mobile and am having the same (no incoming calls but everything else seems fine) problem. I have sent a private message - i think! Still learning the community.
Cheers

Hi there!
I have having the exact same problem - i just convinced my 72 year old father to switch from bell. Everything is working aside from receiving incoming calls for him? Have done a reset, ejected the sim, etc. I am not sure if this is the correct way to message Mary, the moderator who helped your cousin? I hope i did my tags right!!

A warning message is definitely needed for port requests to ensure that the user has carefully checked all the correct information entered to avoid these stuck ports!

AWESOME!!
Thanks especially to @Mary_M for her speedy and friendly assistance on resolving this matter 🙂
Turns out the acct number was incorrect - once that was corrected the port went through in a timely manner and my cousin's phone can now recieve calls no problemo and she's officially a full PM member!! YAY!!! 🙂
Cheers,
Dave

That's what make public mobile make unique and different then other carrier users always here to help each other even if you need a help middle of night you will get replies pretty quickly and then if it's not in users hand then we have a great mod team working on top of us 😉

So far... I have to say.. WOW
You all have been so helpful and expedient in your responses... I'm looking to get my cousin a used laptop to get her back into the swing of things - I can't wait to show her how great this community is!!
I know a lot of people may have concerns about joining an "online support only" type of telecom provider but man.. this is a LOT better than being on hold and listening to horrid muzak!!
Thanks again!

I didn't know that before either tagging more then one name but my friendly other users explained to me if someone adding couples mod in their post mod dept will be getting multiple help requests so it's good to be either tag one or send a procedure how to contact mod this way they won't get tag and user can send a private msg by it own way

Yep!! 🙂 I most certainly did - I'm trying to get my wife to move over too from Bell - but her concern is the "but the phones are so expensive to purchase outright!!!" to which I always respond "Maybe.. but then you end up paying Bell so much more $$$$ over the life of your contract!!"
Cheers,
Dave

Good morning @dcsang,
Thank you for reaching out to us and for helping out your cousin with her activation and port request!
I'm sorry to hear that all her calls are going to voicemail - this could be the result of a failed or stuck port. Don't worry though, I'm here to help 🙂 Can you please send me her Bell phone number via private message?
Regards,
Mary

@dcsang Seeing as you brought her over, and helped her set it up, hope you remembered to ask her to use your number as a referral so you can get a monthly discount.

I would suggust contact mod dept they will look after you
In your private message to any moderator include whatever bits of the following info you have:
* PM account email address
* PM phone number
* PM SIM card number
If you were trying to transfer a number from another carrier also include:
* old carrier account number, exactly as shown on your bill
* old carrier phone number
* the name, exactly as shown on your bill
* an Alternate Phone Number; someone else’s, not your own
Your old SIM should continue working until the port-in completes; don't cancel your old account.
