New Phone, Big problems

Jaceway41

Hello.

I have recently purchased a new device, and sold my old one. I shouldnt have done that.

I cant log in to my public account (i created this one for the purpose of posting) because i cant get 2fa to my phone which shouldnt be a big deal except i also cannot access my email to receive a 2fa code to it, because i dont have access to my phone number to satisfy the google 2fa.

i contacted support who told me they had limited ability to help and i should seek the assistance of a community advisor, as they have more tools available to help with this sort of thing.

please reach out if you can assist.

Hey @Jaceway41

There are three ways to get a 2FA code. One, by SMS. That option is not available according to you. The second option is by email. But you say you can't access your Google Gmail account. The third option is to have it sent to your voicemail. I am 100% confident that you wiped your phone before you sold it so to me, this option should be a safe method. If you click on Resend Code, see if the option is there is the option for voicemail.

If you can't get in this way, then here is how you reach a CS agent. Just know, with this new system, it could be hours before you see help. Maybe even tomorrow since it's mid day.

If you’re unable to log in, please use the following link and enter Contact Us and follow the prompts.

Public Mobile Expert Messaging

The hours of operation for this chat daily are 8am to 9pm (time zone unknown at this time). Response times are expected to be within 30 minutes but may be longer depending on volume of requests.

Do you have eSIM or physical SIM card?

Community members are customers like yourself.  Maybe one of the regulars may be able to offer more advice.

If you know your password for voicemail, you could get Public mobile to send 2FA code to your voice mail.

No I haven't lately, that's too bad. I wonder if you could ask support to change the email address linked to your account so that you can regain access?

Are you using an ESIM or a SIM Card? With a SIM card you should be able to just pop the SIM into your new phone, although I suspect that is probably not the issue here. It might be easiest to try and reset your email password so that you have access to your email and then have the code sent to your email address.
