My Samsung A5 says I inserted a network locked SIM card and I need to enter a SIM unlocking PIN. It isn't the PIN I created when activating my account. When I look at the SIM card status in settings, it recognizes the network as Telus. What is going on and how do I get my phone to work?

This isn't your sim that is locked. SIM Network Unlock PIN means that your phone is locked to another carrier. Contact that carrier, or if it is a Canadian mdoel, contact Samsung Canada for the unlock code.
