@TLC467 as already mentioned, the L999 is a no-go with PM.  What phone did you switch to, and is everything working fine now?

Sorry, but LG P999 is not at all compatible with Public Mobile.  It will not connect to the network.  The P999 was sold as Optimus 2x by Wind and Videotron and as the LG G2x by T-Mobile and is not able to connect to either of UMTS bands 2 or 5.

In any event, sorry but your phone isn't going to work.  Even it were compatible, since you were saying that you can't connect to the network, please note that access point name settings have nothing to do with the actual connection to the network.  Acess Points could be wrong or blank and you would still be able to register on the network, make/receive phone calls, or send/receive text messages.

@TLC467  Our "go to" place to confirm compatibilty is http://willmyphonework.net. It reports your phone is NOT compatible with Public Mobile's network, so you need a different phone. Here's post to get you started: http://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Getting-Started/How-do-I-know-if-my-phone-will-work-on...

Are you trying to edit an existing APN?  Some phones don't allow you to edit built in APNs.  Just create a new one with a different name.  The name field is only for user reference and does not factor into the settings.  Do the editing with the Public Mobile SIM card in the phone.  Doing so will allow the phone to associate the APN to the SIM card.

Hey TLC467,

Make sure you're following the steps shown in the guide below to properly set up the Public Mobile APN on your phone.

Have you activated your Public Mobile SIM card before placing it in your phone?

Yes it's not saving the new settings I have tried to manually set the acess point but when I put in my Sim in it's not regestring it, when I got to search for the mobile network it's not even showing up

Hi could you ne more specific on what it is not accepting? or exatly what is happening?

ie it wont save the new settings

settings save, but still no data

you maybe might  rebooting phone\9 assuming that has been done), or possibly try clearing partition cache.  |some phones might requre a factory reset (lg G5 i belive, so not sure about yours)
