I have an iPhone X and no issues. The iPhone X was introduced in 2017 so there is a possibility that it might be locked.

Go to Settings>General>Carrier Lock. If it is unlocked it should indicate No SIM Restrictions. If it is locked, it will indicate the name of the carrier then you need to contact them to have the phone unlocked.

@Manav2812   what is the error message? No SIM?  Sim not provisioned?  No Network?

since it is a new activation, it is very likely a sim card provisioning issue.  It is an easy fix for PM , but you will need to open ticket to engage them:

1. Please open ticket via Chatbot (requires access to My Account): click this  Chatbot Ticket Link

Then click "Click here to submit a ticket ↗" to open the ticket submission page
Next, enter your Community login, then enter your question.  Finally use My Account login or 4 digits PIN to validate.

2. If you have trouble with Chatbot or you don't have access to My Account: Private message CS Agent at:

**Monitor your Community inbox (envelope icon on the top right) after the ticket is opened.  CS Agent will reply to you there

Try the SIM card in another, known to be working, device to determine whether a SIM/account or device issue.   While you're at it, try that other device SIM card in your iPhone to see if it works as expected.

Also, were you porting your number from another provider when coming here...
