My phone is showing SOS

Chantellmolller
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

I woke up this morning to see SOS only in the corner I’m at my house and I’ve never had a problem with service here before. I have also already tried turning on and off my phone, turned service on and off, took the SIM card out and back in, doubled/triple checked that I paid my bill, I even gave my phone an update nothing has work. So any more suggestions or people experiencing the same issue around North Vancouver BC

@Pastrudel  I don’t see what you are requesting me to do on the second part. Those “words” are not there

It's Settings - Cellular - Cellular Data Options - Voice & Data

I did the first part and reset but all it did was take me offline on wifi. I’m back on now…

HI @Pastrudel

Reset Network Settings:

Settings-> General.-> Transfer or Reset iPhone.->Reset.->Reset Network Settings.

Change network mode

 Settings->Mobile Service->Mobile Data Options->Voice & Data->

Then try 5G Auto, 4G (LTE) and 3G.  Test each one

Also I am unable to text to an android phone. Like I said she will have a look tomorrow as she can text an android but not me

Unfortunately I don’t know where to look to check those things out. My daughter is a 3 minute drive from me and we’re communicating via wifi. I have a iPhone 13 Pro

HI @Pastrudel

Telus and PM use the same network.  So, if it is a issue with the network in the area, Telus would suffer the same.  So, check around in your area anyone using Telus or Koodo and ask if they have the same problem.

And also, when you check your phone, check the network mode.  Try changing to 3G or 4G (LTE) or 5G and see if it makes any difference

Hello,  this is what it shows. My daughter set me up after she did herself. I do not know anything else unfortunately. Perhaps I am premature in asking the question. I’ll be seeing her again tomorrow to hopefully fix this issue. Otherwise it’s back to Telus and more money for me 😢

@Chantellmolller  check the Telus outage map, it is showing problems around Vancouver, maybe too far north though nearer to Whistler.

OK. Best to try when someone comes home. Also, not only try in their phone, but try their SIM card in your phone. Several reasons could be... your SIM card's life is now over and you need a new one. If your SIM works in another phone, then it may be your phone. If that's the case, by trying someone else's SIM in your phone and still SOS it means your phone may be in need of service.

I saw this sometime on the weekend. Have you tried to reset your network settings? Have you tried placing your SIM card into a different phone?
