Moving to PM questions

I am looking at moving to PM from Koodo, which is another Telus sub company. the Koodo experience for Can/us/mex coverage has been great but they have no plan including Mex. my big concern is the lack of customer support. from what I see is that I activate an account, one for me, one for hubby. then transfer our phone numbers. question, with no physical SIM, I would need eSIMs, when do I remove the old sim and Activate the esim? also, should I do all the activation and transferring from the phone app or online? thanks

@kvwalker

Public mobile does lack the perks like Wifi calling, call control, live customer service and international roaming (besides Mexico and USA).  Save some money compared to Koodo because of this.

Here is some additional information:

I hope you all have fairly newer phones or phones on PM white-list. You will need to ensure that your phones are VoLTE capable or you will not be able to make phone calls.

You will need to reply to the text from Koodo with YES confirming you are porting over to PM. The old eSIM will continue to work until porting is completed before deleting the Koodo eSIM.

I have been with PM for about 4 years and no issues contact a CS_Agent. Communication is done through messaging and not through calling for live support. Key is patience when waiting for a reply from an agent. It could be from 1/2 to 4 hours depending on how busy they are.

@kvwalker  You activate on the PM app only , once you have downloaded the eSIM from app and set it to primary do you remove the Koodo sim . As for support public mobile has support it’s just done online instead of by phone is the only diffence other then public has no wifi calling like Koodo and Telus has . It’s easy peasy to get started and activated if you have any issues come back here and the community will advise what to do next it’s that simple
