Remember, local calling areas are not the same as province-wide calling packages.
If your friends do not have a calling plan capable of calling you at no cost, they will incure long distance charges in some fashion, even if you are on a province wide calling plan.
I have a 226 number in Ontario, but I still must dial long distance to reach some other 226 area codes numbers, and all the other area codes also, however as I'm on a province-wide plan, I do not incur the extra charges.

@willie444 Innisfail falls under the Red Deer local calling area
So dialing a Calgary number would be long distance
Only way around it is to change your number (or let others dial long distance if they have free province wide plans; good way to promote some refers to Public)

Sorry, but this isn't possible. A Calgary-based phone number cannot be changed to belong to another city. That phone number will forever be a Calgary phone number. If you want a phone number that is local for other people to call you from Innisfail, you have no choice but to change your phone number.

You should be able to go into the self serve portal and use the change number option to select one with a local area code. Use the select new number option. Take a look at the very informative link.
