Hi guys!
I've been with PM for a year now, and I haven't had any issues so far but one of my friends just recently moved from Toronto to Montreal and as a result changed her phone number from area code (416) to area code (438). I can receive her texts just fine, but when I try to respond I always get the notification "Public Mobile here. Sorry, we do not offer text messaging outside of Canada at this time."
I know the area code 438 + following digits is in fact Montreal... So I'm kind of stuck on what to do until my plan changes, since I'm going to be travelling very soon to another province!
I have the grandfathered plan - Unlimited Canada-Wide Text/Talk/1GB data until September 4th to which I'm changing to Province-Wide Talk/International Text.
Thanks for all the help!

Hey @Divetus,
I'm sorry to hear about this,
I'll be glad to look into this for you, can you please send me a private with your Public Mobile phone number?
Thanks,
Shazia

@Divetus, I don't think changing your number would help anyway, it's your friend's number that is percipitating the problem. When we see this problem it seems to always be one of the new overlay area codes involved, (almost like someone missed something when they were being programmed for routing). Hang in there, hopefully the mods can sort it out for you.

Ahaha, I should've specified I know the number is 100% Montreal with the following 3 digits but that would almost be giving out the number!
Thanks for the information though, I shot a PM to the mod and am waiting for a response!
@cec69 Unfortunately, changing my number would be highly detrimental to me! I don't have that luxury of just changing it! Seems like a mighty big hassle you had to do just to get it working within ontario

@Divetus 438 is not just Montreal city fyi
Depending on the next 3 digits it is possible to even assign a non local number
Lots of politics here (even some cities voting to leave Montreal)

But other posters are correct it probably is just a bug that needs a mod to quash @Shazia_K

I had the same problem but with a 226 area code in Ontario. I solved the problem by changing my number to a 519 area code number which services the same area.

Hello!
PM is here and there, so it's everywhere in Canada but..... I assume that your friend has nothing to see with that since you can read her messages. It might be a problem that requires a special help that you can get only from the PM moderators. Please send your personal information, in a private message, to Shazia_K or Mary_M and one of them will look into that asap for you. Meanwhile you can reboot your phone to see if that could help. Be patience....
Cheers,
