International or USA?

My plan has unlimited International Text.....I will be visiting the USA for 4 weeks....is the USA considered part of  International texting since I live in Canada...... or do I have to purchase a USA Roaming bundle?   HELP!

one other option is to download free voip app such as TextNow which uses local wifi or separately purchased data to make and receive free calls and texts to most any US or Cdn number. Most hotels, motels, cafes McD's, Walmart,  etc. have free wifi now...you might just have to ask for their password.

added...while in US, you'll receive text messages even without PM add-on...you just won't be able to respond w/o the add-on or other option.

Unlimited international texting simply means that while you are in Canada there are no borders worldwide when it comes to texting. This means that you can send and receive texts to anywhere in the world so long as you are anywhere in Canada at the time of doing that.

If you must have texting service while physically in the usa, there are roaming add-on plans which allow for that.

Please be aware that these add-ons are only good for 15 days at a time and the clock starts from the point of purchase so plan to make the add-on purchase accordingly.

@Joyce18   Since you are going for 4 weeks it might be easier to change to a Canada/US plan and then switch back although the downside of that is that your current plan may not still be available to switch back to when the time comes.  The US roaming add-ons only last 15 days and there has to be a 24 hour gap before you can buy another one unless you ask customer service to add it, from what I understand.

Your unlimited SMS (domestic/international) is valid ONLY while you are in Canada.

If you want to use texting (or calls) in USA you have to purchase corresponding add-on or have a plan allowing that.
