Dear Public mobile, I am afraid of that I have to leave you and transfer the number to another cellular provider.
Because I have to be in another country for almost one year. But the public mobile do not have the roaming except in USA. And I have to use this number to receive important message.
So I have to make decision to transfer this numbet to another provider. I hope I will be back to public mobile after I am back to CANADA.
Could you please help me to transfer my cellphone number without recieving the SMS?(I am not in CANADA right now and the celllphone could not work righti now without roaming)
Your sincercely

You may want to do some research first on international roaming for Canadian carriers. If you are staying for one year abroad, it can be quite expensive. For example, Koodo charges $16/day for Easy roaming. It would be cheaper to purchase a domestic SiM card/plan, but you would NOT be able to use your Canadian number. It may also be trickier also to activate a new cell plan and porting while you are outside Canada.
If you need a Canadian number to receive 2FA texts from banks, etc, you may want to look at other options. Some services will allow for 2FA email, separate authentication apps (ie. TD bank), etc.
If you port out, you are welcome to return to Public mobile when you are back to Canada. If you are on the old legacy rewards program, you will not get your old rewards back. You will be put in the new points system which does not save you as much money as the old rewards.

you can ask the customer support agents to approve a manual port without the need for the port authorization request.
You’ll likely need to tell them which provider you’re going to and give them some idea when the transfer is expected to occur.
