just signed up and keep getting the message “MMS messaging requires your phone number”
not sure how to fix this

you still have your old sim there
remove the old physical sim.
and check Settings -> Cellular and disable all the old eSIM
make sure PM sim is the only one with Turn on this line enabled, and also set as Primary. Try again

Yes, an iPhone SE
In the settings under messages it looks like multiple numbers are entered.

iPhone or Android ?
Reset network settings first
Then if Android, uninstall Google Message, reboot and reinstall
If iPhone l, remove the phone number from Settings, reboot and add the phone number back

Are you using an iPhone? Is MMS enabled in Messages settings? Is your phone number saved in Settings?
If that doesn't help, I would suggest submitting a ticket with the orange chat icon on the lower right.
