'Local Calling Area' implications

What are all the implications of being outside your 'Local Calling Area'.

Except for the person calling you, it may cost them to call you if your number is not in their local calling area. Mostly it's out of consideration for occasional complaints from those who don't have a long distance plan trying to reach you.

With Canada wide talk/calling plans with Public mobile, you can call anyone in Canada without any implications or issues.  

The major implication is that for other callers to call you.  It would be considered long distance and for some callers, that would require extra charges to call you.  Ie. Landline without Canada wide calling plan.  However, most mobile plans do have canada wide calling these days.
