Please allow more than an hour for people to try to answer your questions. Creating multiple threads will only make it harder you for to find the repsonses from others. Thanks.

I get the preview of the link on lg blu and umidigi phones, can it be phone related?
Can you borrow your mom's phone just to test?
Can you also dig through the message app settings and see if you need to enable it?

Sigh. In default Samsung texting app - 3 dots, Settings, More settings - Show web previews.
Come on AdamLove. Figure it out.
I don't know if that option will give you what you want. Try it out.
Can I put my spoon away yet?

Dude. You're in a hands-on self-serve kinda place. Dig around. Go around all your texting app settings. It's not hard. Explore the big wide world.

Hi @AdamLove here's from MMS Problems on an Android on chron.com. that might help.
A soft reset clears up a range of issues on Android phones. If MMS problems persist, soft reset your phone. The soft reset, or battery pull, does not negatively affect your phone. It may provide your phone with the boost it needs to function properly. Pull out the phone's battery and leave it out for 45 seconds. Replace the battery and turn on the phone. Send a test message to determine if the problem is resolved.
A last resort option for fixing MMS problems on the Android phone is a hard reset. The hard reset removes the data on the phone and resets its settings. Back up your phone's files before doing a hard reset. Open your phone's settings and tap “Privacy.” Tap “Factory Data Reset” and follow the prompts to finish the hard reset. When the Android restarts, you will need to go through the phone setup process again.
I hope it helps.

I was trying to identify if you were talking about MMS notification if you didn't have data on.
My Samsung phone has an option in the default texting app to "Show web previews". Mine's off. Maybe you could turn yours on if you have something like that. Maybe that's what you mean.

It may be your text message app. I am using Google Messages app from Google Play.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging&hl=en_CA&gl=US
The text messages which I received from Superstore and SDM on my $10 50/50 plan showed up as web links.
Update:
The link in Cha-ching text message from PM 611 is also shown as web link on my Google Messages app.

Um...because it's a link?
Sending pictures via MMS sends an actual picture...not a link. Sending a link is basically just a line of text.
You need to turn on cell data to receive an MMS.
