LTE calls turned off ?

Handsome_Helper

I just opened my iphone and this popup appeared :

LTE Calls Turned Off. Public Mobile has turned off LTE calls on your account.

What is the meaning of this ? I tried to call a relative and can see the signal turning to 3g when the call is ringing instead of staying at 5g/LTE. Please I’d love some help and if possible a Public representative would take a look at this.

Thanks

Thanks for your help. I did the reboot but did not test as, like the old Green Acres shows, we have to go outside to make a call here (valley) reception is so poor and it’s too cold. Seems ok now since it did ring. 😉

@Handsome_Helper   Mine is an iPhone 13 mini also and on 5G auto but I didn't have that problem today so it seems to be hit and miss but multiple people are reporting the problem.

I have an iPhone 13 mini. Currently I am in Montreal. My cellular options are as follows : Data Roaming off, Voice&Data on 5G Auto and Data mode on Allow More Data on 5G.

@Jeanette5754   Dropping to 3G on calls even when the phone is set to LTE means that VoLTE is not working.

ok, I called myself with my work phone and as soon as that happens, the LTE in the upper right corner switches to 3G.   When I go into the settings for calls, it says LTE

@Jeanette5754 a device reboot works? check your phone while you are in a calls, it is showing LTE or 4G ? or just 3G?

We have 4 PM phones in our household, and one had this message this morning.  Can make/receive calls, but over 3G... going to try a reboot as some have suggested here.

what is your location?  and are you on iPhone? if so, what version of iPhone?

Please try reboot your phone, then make a call and check if signal stays as LTE or drops back to 3G during the call

My wife hade that message on her iPhone XR this morning but nothing on my android S20. Seems to be an iPhone problem but my wife's phone is working fine, she's talking on it now.

This happened to me to this AM (Toronto). Would love to hear any more info if people find something out!

We received this alert on one of our iPhones this morning as well, device was stuck on LTE for data and calls flipped to 3G.

Reboot of the phone seems to have restored the service.

Had tried turning the line on/off , reset carrier service, none of those worked.

I’m east in PEI and saw this message on my iphone this morning. Some explanation would be nice. What’s it mean?

I had the same alert this morning on my iPhone in Toronto. Cellular settings still says LTE.

Have you both checked the Telus outages map?

https://www.telus.com/en/outages

Googling suggests this pop up happens from time to time on various carriers, Verizon in the US and Koodo were mentioned in a couple of sites.  There was no obvious reason and the carriers had looked into it and concluded it wasn't at their end, but if you'd like to check with PM customer service, send a private message here

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437

An agent will reply at the envelope icon top right or tap your avatar for Messages.

Maybe it's just a temporary glitch in the local network causing LTE to be unavailable - my iPhone is not giving that message this morning.  Most of the acknowledged outages seem to be in the west.

Just wanted to say I had the same message when I opened my phone this morning, so maybe there is something wider going on.

@Handsome_Helper   Which iPhone do you have?  Did you check whether the setting has changed, settings - cellular - Cellular Data Options - Voice and Data?
