@srlawren Totally agree. I have my master on google, and everything syncs there. iOS, Android, ubuntu, etc...

Great info, @mimmo. Yes, anyone that doens't sync their contacts back to either Gmail or iCloud are pretty silly in 2017. I remember the dark days when a lost or destroyed phone meant the same for all your contacts. Yikes.

@Terrylaplante the link i posted has instructions. most of your contacts shoudl be in gmail already as your phone should sysnc contacts.

what phone do you have android or iphone.

@Terrylaplante, is your phone already lost? If it is lost I don't think there is anything you can do. If you are thinking of a preventative thing, I beleive there are a few products. The Tile is one I have seen.
ETA: Locator apps only will work while the phone is on.
