Is PM going to launch yearly byod plan?

I learnt that Chatr has a $149/year plan comes with unlimited incoming & outgoing minutes in Canada, unlimited worldwide text messaging, 40gb data usage per year.  After using up your data allowance, you can still use data at a slower speed until your next anniversary date.

It seem to be cheaper than my current PM plan, and I am tempted to port over if PM is not launching any new plan to keep existing customers.

I look at it differently.  I don't think PM will have the annual plan

Telus has it.  Telus uses that to make it better than the minimum requirements for Prepaid plan requested by C R T C.  It is not a profit making  plan and Telus won't have interest to make it available for all his tiers.

Looking at the other carrier, its annual plans stay with that one and not share across its other tiers in that brand

There have been no plans announced for any such plan.  Public Mobile doesn't announce any new plans until they're ready to do so, so asking here won't yield any results.

Come on….ease up a bit. I would think that PM is aware of the competition. And PM has their strategies.
Also the carrier as mentioned by @danlee1 Telus had/has? a one year (365 day) prepaid plan, PM used to have 90 day plans and there is another carrier that has 3 different one year prepaid plans.

Each long term may have and do have benefits for type of usage and options offered.
From the customers point of view if you prematurely use up all your data, they may have to renew the term before it ends….bad for customer….good for carrier.
From customers point of view, usually, a longer  term plan is less $ per month.
Customer must realize if they move out of country or see a better deal, they will have to forfeit the paid up in advance balance.
Customer risks system reliability when they move away from PM.

From the carriers point of view paying less often has to be less cost for the carrier.
From PMs point of view perhaps the rewards program works best if all plans are 30 day.

You must proceed assuming PM will never offer such a plan. They have never had one in 15 years and have been raising the price of their lowest plan the last few years.
