Does anyone know if HSDPA 2100 is a supported band on Public Mobile? I was able to find one person who alleged it was but I wanted to see if anyone else could confirm, thanks!

Sorry, but the answer to your question is sadly actually an absolute no.
As I was mentioned before, Band 1 is what most phone maufacturers called "2100MHz". That is not an available network frequency here. Someone may say, "but what about AWS 1700/2100MHz"? That's actually band 4 and that's entirely different than band 1. Either way, Telus/Public Mobile has never used band 4 on HSPA/HSDPA (even though your phone manufactuer was most likely referring to band 1, which Public Mobile doesn't have either).

That's not correct. 2100MHz is most commonly understand to be band 1. Band 1 is not used anywhere in the country. This is why carriers insisting on saying 1700/2100Mhz for AWS band 4 did more harm than good.

The LG Lollipop GD580 will not give a stable service. Also, the 3G will be decommissioned in 2025 so it will stop working for about another year so you will need a new phone.
You might want to consider the new phone like the Samsung S3a or Moto G Play.

hi @Bnny if you have the phone already, you can try with a Telus or PM sim
but it you are thinking about burying, I would avoid

The phone i was looking at was the LG Lollipop GD580.. it seems like that’s the only band that’s compatible on it though so it may not be the right fit.

What is the make and model of your phone?
2100Mhz is compatible with PM but a minimum of 2 frequencies is required encase the frequency is cut off

@Bnny: You can find supported bands here; https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/check-your-phones-compatibility. HSDPA is part of HSPA family so you should be good there.

Oh really? I didn’t know that, but thank you! 🙂

HI @Bnny
yes, 2100 is a supported band,
but you need more than one supported band for the phone to work well, just one not enough
