Invalid SIM

My phone is repeatedly going into “Invalid SIM”. It registers correctly each time I power cycle. But says “SIM error” or something like that and displays “SOS only” and “Invalid SIM” alternately. I haven’t done anything to the phone.

Thanks for letting me know.

I have an iPhone 8 Plus. It doesn't support eSIM. I will contact customer service as per your suggestion if the problem comes back again. It has been working for last 5 hours!! Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will see how it goes. It is still registered (since I came back home). I will know later if it is related to cell handover. So far, after about four power cycles and being in the same cell coverage area, it is working. I will reach out to customer service as per @Handy1 suggestion if it happens again.

This happened to me today and I had to restart my phone(not power off) by using the restart option on my phone but pretty sure that powering off probably works too...had to restart 2 times before my sim worked again...this happens to me about once every few months or couple times a year and not sure why...

That’s true in that case another option if your phone supports it would be eSIM also and you can do it right away $5 also @Bhaskar_

It sounds like you may need a new SIM card. Sadly they don't last for ever. A small blip of static electricity can wear it out. Follow @Handy1 suggestion of reaching out to customer service and see what their advice is. I think they'll say your SIM needs to be replaced. If they DO say that, don't buy it from them. I only say that because it will take weeks to get. If you have Amazon Prime, it's only $4.99 and faster shipping.

@Bhaskar_  Then I’d get support to investigate for you

No. I’m with Public Mobile for more than 4 years now. I am still connected with LTE since my last power cycle one minute ago. Don’t know how long it will stay connected.

Did you put the SIM card in correctly? Sometimes putting it upside down can result in this error.
