signed up for public, entered sim card and tried to port my number from Telus Mobility and it says invalid number.

it is not invalid number, it is likely requested to be ported already. Please call the number I sent to your Community inbox. That is porting support and they can advise

I found where to port the number but it says number invalid to transfer and it is an active Telus mobility number
I found where to do the transfer but when I enter the valid telus mobility number, it says invalid

check the porfile page on My Account, is it showing your phone number?
if not , click Transfer phone number, enter the number you want to port and the Telus account number
if it shows the same error, you might have submit porting already, call the porting team to clarify. I will send you the number to your community inbox

I am in the self serve and there is nowhere that I can find to request the number ported

HI @Theadore Telus number can come to PM for sure
what you can also do is to get a temporary number first, then either manually request poring at My Account or have support agent to help to put in the porting request for you

Is your Telus Mobility phone number active? If it's active, open your Public Mobile account with a new phone number. Then go in your Public Mobile Self Serve account to request the number porting.
