I have been unable to use my new service plan and SIM card because I do not have cell service where I live and did not know that Public Mobile did not support wi-fi calling. I finally had the opportunity to take my phone to the city but could not get anything done because the phone was constantly ringing. I had not given my phone number to anyone yet. The callers were from all over, New York, Toronto, etc, none of which I knew. Finally, after 1 hour and over 20 calls, I couldn't stand it any longer and turned off my phone. My message box was totally full, some calling me by name - but not MY name - and none from anyone I knew. It was like someone else had the phone number I was given when I activated my SIM card. I have never been so frustrated and wish I had never chosen Public Mobile. To top it off, I didn't get the first SIM that was supposed to be mailed and I did not receive a refund for having to buy a replacement, only a credit to my account. So I am out 2 months payment for a phone I cannot use.

@GinnyKerr I had a similar experience although not as bad as yours sounds. I did change my number but what I did was put the choices into Google search to see if the number showed up anywhere. I finally settled on a number that didn't come up on a Google search and had no more problems after that.

Sadly you never know. This is the reason why you're allowed to change it once a week just in case. I'm going to assume the person who had the number before you, those calls were probably collectors. Try changing it and see what happens. I've lost really good and easy numbers too. It sucks but, I'd rather not have someone else's bad number.

Hello @GinnyKerr
You can go into your account and change the number if you'd like. You're allowed to change numbers once a week actually.
