Interesting talks about PM

Hello Everyone,

I have an amusing incident to share related to PM.

I had applied for a credit card and for verification received a call from the bank. Amongst other details, they wanted to confirm my current mobile operator. I guess it shows in the credit check report or its just another random question asked by them.

So I told the customer service person on the line, that I was with Public Mobile. And she was like 'What is Public Mobile ?'. Smiley Tongue

And then I ended up explaining about PM, the plans, advantages etc. I am not sure if she would shift to PM but she did sound very eager to search more about PM.

And Yea my credit card was also approved in the end. Yay !!! Smiley Very Happy

Prepaid definitely no credit reporting.

@srlawren

Yes could be. I checked on google and yes you are right, for prepaid accounts, credit checks are not done since its not needed.

could be that the bank wanted to confirm my current mobile carrier or maybe it was one of those 'random' questions they throw in.

like if you forget password for your online banking account, when retrieving the password they show some random transactions and you are supposed to choose the one which you have recently done.

@neo911 fun stuff!

FYI regarding your credit history:  interesting thought.  I don't know if PM reports to the creidt bureaus or not.  They may not, given that the service is entirely pre-paid, and that they do not do a credit check upon activation.  I could be wrong, but I don't think you'd show up.  In fact, it might be the *absence* of a mobile provider showing on your bill after you left your previous carrier that prompted the question from your lender.  Perhaps.  My theory.  🙂

Did you remember to tell her to take note of your phone number from the application so she could give you the reference reward when she joined? 🙂

Hi @neo911,

Great! I'm happy to hear  that PM brings you chance. Remember to use first translation with that credit card to pay your PM plan.

Enjoy and keep doing it like that. No need to be afraid of talking or introduce PM to people.
