Both myself and another family member have accounts with PM. This billing cycle, the bill for me increased by $4 per month without any notification. They've done this to me already before where I was initially paying $15. I am sick of this and would like to complain to the CRTC about this. Not only that, there is not the option to change the subscription back, just higher up.
My plan was $20 per month with 3 gig data,
and now it's $24 per month with 3 gig data as listed as current plan
and if I want to change plans, the cheapest plan offered is $24 per month with 8 (NOT 3) gig of data. There is not plan offered with 3 gig of data ..really what they are trying to do is get me to switch and accept 8 gig of data and pay the $24 per month. This won't happen, over my dead body. If it's not changed to $20 per month, I will be leaving public mobile and so will my other family member immediately and I will be calling Visa about an unauthorized withdrawal as I did not authorize or agree to any $24 per month charge. Public mobile has gotten greedy and it sucks and I will never recommend Public mobile to anyone again.

Since PM is being completely unreasonable, I and my brother will campaign hard against PM on reddit and here. I will show other cheaper plans and show the intentional discrimination (legal) by PM: they offer him still today $18 and $20 plans, but not to me. They're segmenting their own loyal customers (legal) but not ethical imho. So everyone's plans are slowly being grandfathered. And Elia, a agent for PM said the increase is to cover network costs, yet they just want more money (25% more) and are offering 266% more data (3gig to 8gig for $24), so that is a lie.

if you don't need much data , Koodo has $19 for 30 days for 500Mb , or if you need no data at all, Telus has $100 annual plan for talk/text only

I will for sure. I opened up a ticket, they asked for basic information: name/address/phone/email/last 4 digits of credit card and I am waiting to hear back. The intention of PM is to just get money from each client, as another family member has a $18 plan. If they want this extra $4 /month, it will cost PM more money then they gain by trying to force it on me.

I didn't ask for or want more data. A family member has a plan where they pay $18 per month for 1G of data currently. Can I switch to that plan then? They originally were on a $15 plan and were forced to a $18 plan, and now is this plan being a forced increase from $20/ month to $24 /month on all $20 /month subscribers, while offering $18 /month to others? I use zero data. I use hardly any minutes. There are plans out there that are $99 a year.

I don't need a lawyer, I can represent myself.
There are cheaper plans out there is anyone wants to pay by the year, so no PM has not been generous. It's bad logic to say PM is generous because a competitor had 2 price hikes. I use 0 data, I don't need extra data, just ja no frills plan. You watch me as I push this case to court if PM want to do this.

this is life, it is not like you can argue and exempted from price hike. All mobile providers can increase plan price. My friend with Fido had 2 price hikes within 2 years, PM has been generous already.
And no lawyer will take your case as PM has follow the guideline and provided you 30 days notices. And the guideline only specific PM has to give you notice, email, sms, lettermail are all valid ways.
and $20 for 3GB? you won't get it anywhere anyway.
of course, you might still want to spend effort to talk to the legal department, you can ask PM for help. Simply open ticket with PM using the Orange Chatbot icon on the lower right. (For 2FA code when login, use email to receive code instead of SMS if you cannot receive the text on the phone.) When open Chatbot ticket, Type the question Submit ticket and select Contact Us to get to ticket open screen
But if you have trouble using Chatbot to open ticket, then message PM using this link:

PM will reply to your community inbox, between 9AM-10PM EST (Mon-Sun), check here:

I don't want the price increase and can't be bribed with more data. I did not get the text, and if they wanted to notify me of a price increase, they should of emailed me. In any case, can I get a ticket open on this? I will not pay more than $20 and PM doesn't agree to that or insists on charging me more, then what is the name and address of the legal department? I will just fight them in court over this then.

There was a price hike for the $20/3GB plan. The new price for the same plan is $24 after April 1st.
Like any mobile provider, PM reserves the right to adjust prices with 30 days’ notice. A notification was sent via SMS near the end of February.
To offset this increase, PM has provided you with an improved $24 plan with 8G. So, if you are paying the $24 anyway, choose the one with more data. Please check your My Account > Change Subscription page for the plan, use Change on Renewal to schedule the plan change.
