There is only one thing that really needs to be changed in  the mailbox in my opinion  and that is to ad  a button to contact a CSA .

Lol....I recommend you ignore the recommendations!🤣🤣🤣

last time they rolled back together, that's why i thought the upgrade was related.. i guess they are not 🙂

The updated inbox made it very difficult to use.  While the recommendations add clutter, they can be ignored.

 @barrascuk : Indeed. Nor do the other gazillion Apple/iOS buyers. Android has 2.5x the market share though (edit: one reference). That's a lot of products running the much more open operating system. I've been well aware of the presence of Apple since their beginning. I've held the same opinion since.

But hey at least I got a response from you on it. Don't get me wrong...you're not alone. Just not me. You first took exception to my sandbox comment. Which they are. Here we are.

Lovely products, way too slick marketing and enormous budget for it that seems to work wonders, other than very few exceptions...much more expensive than other products on the market.

 @esjliv : In case some of that was directed at me...permission?...and...I never indicated being insulted. I just thought it would be nice. Naturally and of course the company can do whatever it wants with its stuff.

I am not insulted or upset at all that Public Mobile did not ask the Community members permission or feedback prior to making any changes to Inbox.

They should be able to do as they please in this regard without their customers' permission/feedback.

As for testing before the live release,  sure, things could have been caught and improved if certain testing was done beforehand.

thanks @J_PM ,  glad this was rolled back

 @barrascuk : That's what you wrote. I responded to it. Yes you did miss something. Perhaps you need to dial back your self-perception of your vast knowledge.

Apple is almost entirely a closed, proprietary "sandbox". I've never liked them for that.

I totally disagree but respect your ability to express your self.

@barrascuk

I edited my post .....now perhaps you understand what I meant about texting on a laptop. Looking at the screenshot I think flip phone has more room to type a message!

 @barrascuk : Well...you can...you just need to let iMessage out of the Apple sandbox. It'll do MMS and SMS. Not just the instant messaging (not real texting) between Apple devices.

One of the many things I didn't like about the new pm was the conversation list which is a lot like standard texting. pm is much more like email. List each message separately thank you. Or have the option of course.

1. I know the difference between MMS and SMS

2. And your Sandbox comment is NOT appreciated!!! Each to their own. If Windows or Android is a preference....I would throw that software/hardware out the window!!!!! But I respect each persons preference.

3. If you don't know how to set up texting using your Public Mobile plan on a MacBook then you need not to comment.

4. My response was about TEXTING as per what @darlicious  said not PRIVATE MESSAGING!!!!

Did you enjoy the new layout of the private messaging ? Like seriously my flip phone has a larger screen to type a message out on.....

No. Like I said earlier money and programming should have been spent on broken stuff. Private Messages worked!!!!

But I still don't get your Text comment.

@J_PM

There was a time when pm would announce they wanted feedback on something they were going to upgrade or improve and would dangle a couple of 1GB DATA add ons you could win and get a slew of feedback, suggestions, improvements and perspective from light users to super users of the community. All for $30 worth of data to giveaway....and it would keep members interested and engaged. It's so slow around here these days we need something to do .....its no laugh factory not even in the lounge!😁😁😁

Sort of like I said in a previous post OR offer a beta version and ask for feed back!!

@barrascuk

Edit:

My tablet screen is 7"× 5" my screen to type a message in shrank down to 2"× 2" that is not user friendly with its 1"× 2" actual typing space.......its very annoying!

Edit: @darlicious : I don't really need inducements to provide feedback. I will anyway 🙂 But it would just be nice for that inclusive feeling to open it up for the regulars to test...rather than silent. But really...does the company not look at these things before even publicly testing it? Really?

We don't know if the Oracles had a go first. If they did then I don't know what device they were using because it was all crap.

Edit: @barrascuk again 🙂 : See my second paragraph.

@darlicious Who wants to text from laptop (macBook) or tablet (iPad)??  I do and most other Apple users do!! All texts including iMessages can be set up to be received and sent from all devices. The only thing we cannot do is......text to and android and include a pic. TUT! TUT!

 @J_PM : You'll always get honest feedback from this community 🙂 Change to the better is always fine of course. But losing function and flow and layout is never good. Or at least provide options to set it up how one likes.

Other changes like the Recommendations below are just clutter but it doesn't affect function and flow and layout. It's just clutter.

But what would be nice and respectful to your community would be if you made a post and invited all feedback. Instead it just quietly appears and then you get your feedback anyway.

Still wishing for the replied to indicator on every replied post. eBay community uses Khoros and they have it...so it's there. Oracles can see the reply chain, so it's there.

Happy Friday Community,

As many of you have experienced, the new version of Private Messaging was updated in our Community yesterday. We're still in the process of improving the newest version. Thank you for all the helpful feedback.

Note: As we work through these adjustments for the new version, we'll be moving back to our historical layout for the time being.

I will return to this thread and provide an update once our previous version has returned.

Apologies for any inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.

 @darlicious : I would venture to guess that it simply wasn't designed...10 to 12 year olds included. It's a whole lotta crap. Then I see that the messages are grouped in thread style rather than individual messages. Not my preference. I wonder if anybody's reading this feedback. It is a load of....

@Anonymous

Well that's dumb. At least before page number could be associated with an approximate date this is completely useless! How do you scroll thru 5000 messages with no subject titles and a limited amount of avatars without usernames.

PM might as well roll out province wide calling and higher plan prices at this point?!! Who was this designed for? 10 to 12 year olds?

 @darlicious : Keep on scrolling. Page down, End, down arrow take your pick. I have...many. A better way to go up and down would be nice. But the things a shamozzle anyway so whatever.
