Hi @GayaK, after a port, iMessage/FaceTime can stay tied to the old carrier profile until they re‑register with Apple. Do these in order:

1) Confirm the line is fully working
  • Make sure you can send & receive regular SMS and receive calls on the ported number.

If SMS in/out isn’t solid yet, iMessage activation won’t work—give the port a bit more time or ask a CS_Agent to refresh provisioning.

2) Turn iMessage/FaceTime off everywhere tied to that number
  • On the iPhone: Settings ▸ Messages ▸ iMessage = OFF; Settings ▸ FaceTime ▸ OFF.

  • If you ever used that number on another Apple device (old iPhone, iPad, Mac), turn iMessage/FaceTime OFF there too.

  • If you no longer have the old device, use Apple’s tool to deregister the number: search “Apple Deregister iMessage” and submit the phone number to remove the old binding.
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage/

3) Correct the phone number on the device
  • Settings ▸ Phone ▸ My Number → make sure it shows the ported number exactly (10‑digit local format). If it shows the old Rogers number, edit it.

  • Settings ▸ General ▸ Date & Time ▸ Set Automatically = ON.

  • Settings ▸ General ▸ About → apply Carrier Settings Update if offered. Then restart the iPhone.

4) Re‑activate iMessage/FaceTime (this sends Apple an SMS)
  • Connect to Wi‑Fi or cellular data.

  • Settings ▸ Messages ▸ iMessage = ON → wait; you’ll see “Waiting for activation…”

  • Settings ▸ Messages ▸ Send & Receive → tap your Apple ID ▸ Sign Out, then Sign In again. Ensure your phone number becomes checked under “You can be reached by iMessage at”.

  • Settings ▸ FaceTime → turn ON and ensure the number appears and is checked.

Activation can take a few minutes (Apple uses a silent SMS behind the scenes). It can take up to 24 hours, but it’s usually quick once Step 2–3 are done.

5) Dual‑SIM/eSIM check (if applicable)
  • Settings ▸ Messages ▸ Send & Receive ▸ Line → select the Public Mobile line.

  • Settings ▸ Cellular ▸ Default Voice Line and Cellular Data → ensure the PM line is selected (at least temporarily during activation).

6) Clean up old threads
  • Delete old blue‑bubble threads with key contacts and start new threads after activation so they pick up the new number/registration.

If it still won’t activate after these steps + a few hours, I'm here to provide further troubleshooting steps for you!

@GayaK are you getting incoming calls?

First try Reboot and Reset Network Settings and test again

If that does not help, try re-register iMessage.  Goto Settings and remove the phone number there.  Reboot phone. Them go back to Settings and enter the phone number back manually. This will trigger iMessage re-registration
