I want to give my grandaughter service

I want to give my grandaughter service for her cell phone,  and i will be adding her to my bill, but how do i get my referral.  

 

I have sent her the sim card and i will be activating her phone on my account.

Email... if you use Gmail it is easy to set up a "second" account..

Grandpa@mail.com is the same as

Grandpa+something@gmail.com

 

It is the same for Gmail, but will be considered a different account by Public Mobile.

 

This is easier than monitoring another mail account!

I have a suggestion for you if you were considering the $15 or $25 plan for your granddaughter. Instead of using the sim card you sent her have her keep it as a spare or she could even use it to refer a friend.

 

Then order an activation bundle from Canadian Cellular Supplies that will come with a free sim card and 20% off the first month. It can be shipped free via Canada post (usually takes 5 business days across Canada), $5 for 1 day shipping to cities surrounding the GTA, Xpress 1-5 days (variable $$) or pick up in Mississauga just ensure that she will recieve it before the end of December.

 

Have your granddaughter give you the sim card # and you send in the activation details to CCS including your referral code. Once activated and the sim card is in her phone and all of her services are working you can complete the set up of her self serve account by having her send you the 6 digit alphanumeric code that pm texts to her phone once you enter the email and phone number for her account.

 

While this changes the initial way you wanted to activate her service the savings may be worth it to you because there are a couple additional promotions that CCS is offering for pm. You will get the following options:

 

  1. Activation bundle w/free sim card and 20% off first month of $25 plan=$20+tax. Save $5 off the plan cost+$5 on their discounted sim cards=$10 in savings.
  2. Choose either a free third month credit=$25 or a bonus 5gb data add on=$75 for $25+ plans. (You can schedule a change plan on next renewal to the $15 plan after receiving the 5gb data add on or if you chose the free third month credit it is based on the plan you activate on=$25.)
  3. You can also get a 20% discount on activation vouchers of $100 or $200 that are credited to the account. Savings of $20 or $40.
  4. Your referral code will get her account a $10 bonus credit and you will recieve the $30 bonus referral credit ($5×6 months) and the additional $1 per month reward.
  5. Your granddaughter's account will also automatically recieve within 7 days the holiday gifts of a 2gb bonus add on and 500 international long distance calling minutes add on (value=$30×$25=$55).

You save $10 up front. The account will be credited with the bonus referral credit $10+$200 (or $100) with the activation voucher ( you save $40/$20)+$25 free month credit (or 5gb add on bonus=$75). You save a total of $50 up front+$35 in credits in the account=$85+$30 bonus referral credit=$115 in total savings (or $165 if you chose the 5gb add on).

 

You still register for autopay to get the $2 reward every month (11 months×$2=$22) $235+$22=$257 in credits which pays for 10 months of the $25 plan in addition to the first month with the $25 plan (or 18 additional months of the $15 plan) for an upfront cost of $180+tax.

All you have to do is the following: 

 

1.  Put the SIM card in her phone or ask her to put the SIM card into her phone. 

2.  Activate the SIM card for her on the Public Mobile website via https://publicmobile.ca/en/on/portal/activation by putting in the SIM card number that's on the SIM card that you sent her.  

3.  Fill out the rest of the information including the payment plan and the phone number that she wants to use and etc.  To get the referral, type in your referral code found on the "Overview" tab under "Sharing is caring!" on the right-hand side in the "Referral Code" section on the Activation page before you enter the payment information.  You need to remember to enter this otherwise you won't be able to add this later unless you contact a Customer Service Agent of Public Mobile. 

4.  If you want to pay for your granddaughter's cellphone service, enter your credit/debit card information in the payment information after the referral code information when you register for "AutoPay".  That way, the payment for your granddaughter's service will be automatically debited from your credit/debit card each month when the plan renews.  

 

With this, she will have her own phone number on her own cellphone but you will get the $1 referral reward each month and the $10 off (because you will be paying for her cellphone service) and you will be paying for her cellphone service thereafter.  She won't be able to use your phone number but this is the only way for you to pay for her service and get the referral reward.  Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, you can only have one plan per email address.

You can activate the PM SIM with her email address and enter your credit card on AutoPay.

Right now there is a PM More is Merrier promo if you sign her up before December 31, she will receive a bonus one time 2gb of data and 500 minutes of international calling including calls in USA and Canada.

Your referral code is on the top right corner when you login to your Self Serve account so she can get the one time $10 credit and you get a $5 off your monthly bill for 6 months during the More is Merrier promo.

you can't add to your account you need to open new account with a new email,

just make sure your credit card number and your address match the same,

sometime your typing but is a one word or letter or number is a wrong or is missing just make sure for it.

Hi @Hutchie  Each account will need a different email address , you cannot have one email (one self-serve account) to manage multiple lines

 

You can use a new email address to create a new My Account to activate.  You can then put in your own referral code during activation and enter your credit card for your grand daughter account.

 

Create a new email for this purpose or use your grand daughter email  if she has one.

@Hutchie  You can find your referral code by logging into your account. It's on the right hand side. 

 

When your granddaughter (or you) go through the activation process there will be a section that will ask for the code.  

 

1 account per email. So you will have to use a 2nd email for your granddaughters account.

You can't add another line to your account. You need to open another account for her using another email address (alias are ok).

 

When you activate the SIM, you'll be able to use your referral code to get the $1/month credit + the $5x6 bonus for xmas if you do it before month end. Your granddaughter will get $10 one-time credit.
