I keep getting weird legitimate calls from people i do not know

Okay something weird is happening. I am getting calls and texts from legitimate people saying that my number called them. I am also getting legitimate calls from people who think i am an organization and i have no IDEA what is going on.

@diarimustafa  - some people will let you know when your number is being spoofed.

But, some will just ignore and move on with their day.

Public Mobile has no way of preventing this from happening with your number (currently). It has happened to me as well. But no real harm is done. Just annoying, yes.

Hopefully, this will stop for you soon.

So they are ticked and calling you back for some reason....most don't. 

That is odd.

Did you recently port or change your number?

Who is the organization?

Perhaps they have advertised and posted your number in error?

Or spoofing as suggested. If spoofed....it won't last long before they move on to another number.

Most likely these people have received spam call with spoofed number which appears to be yours.

How long do you have your number and when this started to happen?

@diarimustafa   No worry, it is call Caller ID Spoofing.  they didn't really call from your number.  They just fake caller ID and make the receiving ends thought it was a valid number instead of some random 1-800 number.    There is nothing to stop this from happening but it doesn't mean you are compromised either.  So, no worry.

It sounds like your number has been spoofed. So you have an option to select another number on your Self Serve account or just ignore the calls.
