What did you find for the SMSC #?
You could also suspend your services momentarily using the lost/stolen feature. Then Resume it after a few minutes. Then restart the phone (or maybe even just airplane mode) and see what happens.

Another troubleshooting tip:
Try the SIM card in another working phone. This will help determine whether hardware setup issue versus PM service problem.

@TerriB your SIM maynot have provisioned properly. Contact the moderators and ask them to fix it for you. There are 2 ways to contact the Moderator Team:
Once connected to Simon, you will be asked to log in again with your community user name and password. Please do, this allows you to continue and send your message.
- Check your private message sent box (click on the envelope top right of your screen) to make sure the message was sent.
- Keep an eye on the envelope top right of your screen. The mods answer will show up there. When it does, you will be asked to verify your self service account, with your password and login. Doing so allows the process to continue. Stay safe.

On my Samsung S7 running A8:
in the texting app find settings. Mine is under the 3 dots in the upper right.
My app I have to dig down into More settings.
Then Text messages
Then you'll see Message Centre. It might be greyed out but you can see the number.
Edit: data is for browsing or MMS. And if you don't mind using it...OS and app updates. Not calls and texts.

Does data have to be on in order to send a text message?

I tried the network restart and the factory restart. Neither worked. Where do I see the smsc number?

@TerriB it's are iffy here at least a network reset and sometimes a factory reset is required for them to work properly here. Try the network reset and restart your phone if it doesn't automatically do so.
Then enter these APN settings
APN settings:
Name: Mobile Internet
APN: sp.mb.com
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMS proxy: 74.49.0.18
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
Authentication type: Not set
APN type: Not set - or - default, mms, supl ( if your mobile hotspot is spotty add "dun")
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable: APN enabled
Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO type: Not set
MVNO value: Not set
Save, restart, enable data and try sending an mms message and surfing the internet. Stay safe.

@TerriB wrote:Thank you. It's definitely my phone because I am trying to text multiple people. It's a new phone on a new plan so it would make more sense if it was my phone having the issue. I am charging it now so I can do a factory reset. I will let you know if that works.
Check for the correct SMSC number. It should be +16475800172.

@TerriB try the network reset first and restart your phone if it doesn't automatically do so. What's the make and model of your phone? If it's an iPhone, sms and mms must be enabled on your phone to send to Android phones. Stay safe.

Hi @TerriB ,
If you have an iphone...
If you have an iPhone and another iOS device, like an iPad, your iMessage settings might be set to receive and start messages from your Apple ID instead of your phone number. To check if your phone number is set to send and receive messages, go to Settings > Messages, and tap Send & Receive.
If you don't see your phone number, you can link your iPhone number to your Apple ID so you can send and receive iMessages from your phone number. You can also set up Text Message Forwarding so you can send and receive MMS and SMS messages on all of your Apple devices.
If you have android, check out this link:

@TerriB force close your texting app and restart your phone. If you can send and receive texts. It's probably a problem with the recipients phone. If its an international numbe don't forget the exit code 011 or + . Stay safe.

I can call just fine and my texts look like they have been sent on my end, but they are never received by the people I am sending them too. I tried updating the messaging app and restarted the phone. Still not working
