I am currently using a VOIP phone under Telnyx which has my personal number. I want to port it to Public mobile, is this possible?

Thought I'd update everyone here, I managed to port in from Telnyx right after they called me to clarify that my provider was Telnyx (they originally tried to port from my previous provider voipms). Telnyx never got the port out request which made me suspicious of the port but it all worked. However, I could've saved the $10 USD port out fee since the charge a port out fee per requests.
The port process took 2 business days but was able to receive text messages within a few hours.
So far very happy with the quick process from the porting team

647 is a Toronto number, so you can certainly move your number into PM
if you have not joined yet, when you join, make sure you use PM app to subscribe. And porting from VoIP takes longer, 3 to 7 days. But good thing is no text to authorize, you just need to wait
and make sure your current Voip account is active, ask them for the account number as you need to provide Pm the account number for porting

647-xxxxxxxxxxx
edited by computergek541: removed part of the phone number for better privacy as all area code 647 numbers are Toronto phone numbers

we can confirm if the number can be ported into PM. Give us the area code and the next 3 digits and we can run the compatibility check for you

Hey @PoohBearPanda
Never heard of that before. The only option I know of is to sign up for the cheapest plan. Once you can make and take calls, text and use data, you can log into your account and try to port the number over. Just know it can take up to a week to port over.
You can create a ticket and ask a CS Agent if it can be ported over.
The Public Mobile chatbot is currently unable to create trackable tickets for members who are unable to log in. So for this reason, please use the following link to contact customer service.

During business hours (9 AM-10 PM EST) you can expect a response within 30 minutes, but it may be longer depending on current volumes.
