I am a new Public Mobile user. I registered online this moring at about 7:30 am. I ported my number from my previous service provider and sent in my payment information, etc. I am also switching to a new phone and recently had it unlocked. Within an hour my old cell phone stopped getting service from my old provider, but it is now 4pm and I still have no service from Public Mobile on my new phone. Yes the SIM card it in, it is on and the phone works fine. Does it usually take this long? Or has something gone wrong? Thanks!

@PKD, activations are instantaneous. Once complete, you can put the SIM card into the phone, boot up and the service is running. Are you able to go into the account and verify that the account is in active status with the ported number showing. BTW, was porting done during activation or as a second step?

A silly question but have you restarted the phone? What type of phone is it and will the PM SIM work in your old phone. We need to see if this is a phone issue or a SIM issue.
