How long does it take to port in a number?

Last night I ported in my Freedom Mobile number to my existing PM account. The website said that the number change was successful.
But now, I have now been waiting close to 12 hours with neither service working. Why would it take so long?

When I ported my number, I was initially only partially ported. After about 24 hours, the port was completed and fully functional. However, it was during one of the promotions, so I believe there was high traffic.

 

Hope this helps.

Just really depends on how many people have sent messages prior to yours. In times of promotions, wait times exceed 2 days, but since nothing is really going on in terms of promos (nothing major) you could hear back fairly soon

 Porting can be instant or a few hours. If your port is taking that long, it is possible that your port got stuck. So you should contact the mods
