How does the Canada/US/Mexico plan work ... and can I change back to old plan if I want to?

I have several questions and I hope it's ok to ask them here.  I'm considering switching to the Canada/US/Mexico plan but the "details" info concerns me.  It says this is a "limited time" offer only and can be cancelled anytime.  Is that true?  Also, if I switch to this plan and then want to switch back to my current plan (Unlimited Canada plan - with lots of US minutes I purchased), will all the US minutes I bought disappear when I switch back?  Finally, I don't know how complex it is to have to find the US carrier and switch SIM cards when I enter the US.  Is it a pain?  Thanks so much

Once you're on the plan you get to keep it. Limited time just means if you don't sign up for it now, it might be gone soon. $35 for a plan that includes the US and Mexico is phenomenal value.

If you purchase the Canada-US-Mexico plan from Public Mobile you do not need to switch SIM cards.  If you see this plan when you sign in to your account then you can subscribe to it and keep it, same as you have kept your current plan month to month.

I think you misunderstood. Limited time means after the date no NEW plan changes (new people that haven’t already signed up) to that plan. If you already have the plan then that will be your plan. If your still able to see the plan then that means that you can still signup.

Thanks so much for your reply!  I will stay away from the plan given your comments.  But it's really too bad that Public Mobile won't offer this plan regularly.

Thanks for this info!!  It's really too bad that they don't offer this plan all the time, as MANY US carriers do!  I'm sure there are quite a few people who travel between the countries and would like an easy way to keep in touch while traveling.  I will stay away from the plan, given the info you gave me.

Limited time means after a set timeframe then the plan will not be available to those who haven’t already signed up for that plan. The plans generally never cancel but they always say that they the reserve the right to do so. If you have US minutes then with this plan those minutes who wouldn’t be unusable since you already have unlimited with this plan. Switching back to your old plan might be hard to do, generally you can only downgrade to certain plans that are available. There is no guarantee you will get the plan you had. If you are travelling for a short time and need US minutes then it’s better to get the add-on or a travel SIM.  With this plan you would not need a different SIM card (just Public Mobile SIM) and you would just need to turn on roaming once in the US and connect to AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile.

The Canada/USA/Mexico plan is a Black Friday promo and will probably disappear soon.

PM has change their policy once you switch plan…you won’t be able to switch back or on a lower priced plan. So I would reconsider switching is you are on the lower $15 or $19 plan.

The USA calling add-on will remain in your account after switching plan.

You can purchase a USA roaming SIM from Amazon and it will be delivered to your door.
