How can I transfer my ESIM to a new phone

Hello

I recently got a new iPhone but keep receiving an error when I try to transfer my number over. I called Apple and they said to contact my carrier to update the IMEI on my account so that the ESIM will work.

How can I do this?

I hope you can assist me.  I am having difficulty in activating a new iPhone 16 Plus that I just purchased from an Apple store in the U.S.  My old iPhone is completely dead (it was immersed in salt water) so I an unable to transfer any information from it.  You wrote, "To rebuy new eSIM, download the app on your new phone, click   or    at the bottom left to bring up the menu and go to Subscription & Add-on page, scroll down to the bottom and click Shop SIM Card Now.  You can buy and install eSIM from there".  But there is no   or    at the bottom left to bring up the menu, so how can I proceed to download the required app to purchase a SIM card or eSIM card?  The Apple store where I purchased the iPhone told me that I must contact my Canadian supplier (Public Mobile) as Apple only works with U.S. providers.

For eSIM with new phone, you have to re-buy a new one for $5.
Yes,  while eSIM is "cool", there are disadvantages as well.  For eSIM, if you have a new phone, or if you ever wipe your phone, you will have to re-buy a new eSIM again.   There is no such problem with Physical sim card.

To rebuy new eSIM, First, download the app on your new phone, click   or    at the bottom left to bring up the menu and go to Subscription & Add-on page, scroll down to the bottom and click Shop SIM Card Now.  You can buy and install eSIM from there

My understanding is that you cannot. Instead, you should buy a new eSIM for your phone, and then change the eSIM in your PM configurations.
