so, the number is now with another carrier? Make sure the account still active with that carrier

then download PM app and start subscription.  After payment step, it will ask for phone number, choose Bring in number, provide PM your old carrier account number as well as phone number

the old carrier will send you a text to confirm the port, reply yes within 90 mins

@Arti_Wai  When you activate on the public mobile app after making payment you will have option to transfer number to public mobile . Leaving old providers sim in the phone to reply YES to the confirmation text to port number to PM . Once you have successfully ported the number to public mobile it will automatically close your old provider account so keep old providers account active and don’t cancel it and port it first then it will close on its own

If you open PM account you can transfer your existing mobile number from other provider. That way you can keep ('save') your number.
Mind you, both account have to be active in order to transfer number. Open PM account, pick ANY number and when service is confirmed initiate number transfer. Follow transfer instructions to the letter...
