Honor 8 (FRD-L04) - Signal Issues

CTWAU

Previously had an iphone 6 and it worked fine with PM. It was broken so I replace it with Honor 8 from newegg.

I checked the model number : (FRD-L04) seems to have the right bands for LTE and everything else.

However when I start using the phone I usually cannot connect to LTE, do text messages or call out. (It only works 5-10% of the time)

Any idea how to resolve this issues I am not sure if this is a hardware issues or if it is a software settings issue. I have already adjusted the APN settings to what it should be.

All advice would be greatly appreciated.

I ended up trying the SIM ona  working Iphone 6 and it seems to be working on that phone fully.

I went back to my new phone and did some changes to the APN settings and the situation seems to be improving. ( i now have data and text more like 60-70% of the time). I changed the name of the APN.

Before it was switching between full services and no service

Try this take sim out turn off phone insert sim restart if that doesn't help also try factory reset and also check LTE network is on if that's doesn't help then as other op suggested try sim in different phone this way you will find out if its service or hardware issue if its service issue then you can contact mod if you see same issues in other phone

If you don't know how to connect with mod dept here is how
But try other suggestion first before getting mod involved to investigate your issue

Contact mod dept they will help you with the process

best way to check is try sim card in a different phone.  if issues persist then its a sim card problem.  if not then there is  problem with your phone or a setting issue.
