Friend given an offer from public mobile, same price but better than my current plan?

My friend just sent me a message saying they were given an offer from public mobile for 5gb of 3g data for 25$ a month? I pay the same price for only 1gb. Is there a reason this offer isn't available to me as well?

These special text offers are trying to entice existing customers to increase their monthly plan fees.  Is your friend on the $15 plan?  Most of the text offers for this $25 for 5GB 3G speed data were sent to $15 plan users.  According to Public mobile, it is determined by their algorithm.  Yet, not all $15 plan users were sent this special offer.  

With you being a $25 plan user, you will unlikely get this specific offer.  You might be sent an offer for the $34/month for 20-30 GB data.  If you really want the potential of this offer, you will need to switch to $15 plan and then hopefully, in the next round of text offers, you will be offered this plan. YMMV. No guarantees.

It seems they are targeting certain accounts/customers, perhaps based on longevity on their current plan.

I as well have a user on the $25 plan for 2 1/2 years and they did not get the offer … yet…
