Existing subscriber can't get same deal as newbies

I would like to change my subscription to the 75GB Can/USA/Mexico for $35/month being offered to new subscribers. Have tried to do so to no avail. Sent a ticket into PM a few days ago and still have no reply. Surely a loyal existing customer deserves the same options as a prospective new customer....hope to hear from them soon.

The $35 75GB wasn't only for new customers.  It was available to some existing customers but not all.

You are probably right about the 75GB $35 offer.  That appears to be for new customers.  I was on a $34 per month plan and I had no problem upgrading to the $35 Can / Mexico / US / 50GB special offer.  However my friend who is on a $40 per month plan doesn't get that offer.  The only option is an upgrade to the $45 Can / Mexico / US / 75GB special offer. It would appear that they only allow you to move up in cost.  Mine was not a new activation as I have been with Public Mobile for a number of years.  My recommendation to my friend will be to switch providers.

If there was truth in advertising all of those fuzzy rabbits and cute flying pigs in the Telus TV ads would be replaced by snakes and scorpions.  Just saying...

Well the very disappointing verdict is in from PM ....no go on my request and here is their answer:

"Let us confirm the plan for $35 75GB is for new activation only, all accounts in Public Mobile have different options for a rate plan change."

"Unfortunately, the plan is not available for a rate plan change on the your account."

So I have decided to downgrade from my $39/60GB plan to the $36/50GB Can/USA option to save a bit.

How did you manage to submit a ticket?

Yes I've noticed that Public Mobile does not allow to switch to a plan cheaper than your current one.

Many thanks to all 3 Mayors for your helpful advice.

I sent in a ticket Dec. 27 and just saw I have finally received a reply from PM rep Walter who stated he wanted to help me in my request. He asked for my cell number and it sounded like he would be able to do the change.

My wife is not interested in the new 75 GB deal as she is happy with her 50GB - $35 plan

So I will await Walter's reply and hope he is able to do the right thing and offer a loyal customer the same deal as a newbie...I will let you know the result....blue skies & cheers

I agree @avrogonzo that customer loyalty should play a part here.

Alas, that's not the way it works with enticing 'activation only' offers by the many mobile service providers around Canada.

They'll extend a carrot in hopes to reel you in, then they got ya, and took you away from another provider.

The only time Public Mobile 'allows' customers to subscribe to special offer plans are in the event your total cost is increasing from the current value you pay, and even then, it's hit or miss whether the special offer is available to existing customers.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, @avrogonzo

@avrogonzo  yes, different plans for different people depending on existing plans.

That $35 plan has now being removed from the site as stated it was ending on December 31. Did you check your inbox for their reply? They have being very strict lately,  no matter how long ones being a client.

You can only change to plans offered in your account.

hi @avrogonzo

PM is using target marketing now and hence not everyone sees all plans

does your wife see a $29 or $30 plan on her My Account's Change Subscription? if so, she can first pick $30 plan and do a Change Now plan change , which of course she need sto pay now and the remaining days on her current cycle will be wasted.    With this,  she might be able to unlock the $35 roaming plan, and she can then schedule a plan change on the following renewal day
