Esim or physical sim?

Do I need an esim card to get the Canada-US plan or can I use my physical sim card?

I just changed my account to US/ Canada wide. Used my same Sim card

If you're switching, make sure you click on Change on Renewal, no credit. .. and take a screenshot just in case.

The choice is up to you. Check that your phone is compatible with the eSIM first. You'd have to download the public mobile app and follow the steps
