The data only add ons are severely overpriced, so that is not a viable bridge option.
The lack of a renew early button cost PM $10 /this user for the month (because I had to downgrade/change my plan to renew NOW).
Wow. When did you activate?
I see you signed up here in the community just recently. But you've been around for at least 30 days. So you ran out of your higher cost plan data. Then did you use the gift data also? Maybe even the gift data from the summer? None of the promo data either that has been offered the last while?
Perhaps you should have gone up in plan rather than down so as to get more data.
The main advantage of the add-on data is that it stays on your account until used. So you run out of your plan data near the end of your term and then the phone will use that add-on data. Then your plan renews and you'll go back to using the plan data and the add-on will just sit there waiting to be needed again. Think of it as your overage bucket.
Don't forget to calculate in that say like the $50 plan costs $1.66 a day. You don't get any pro-rated credits around here. That prepaid cost is gone.

"Renew Now" is a feature/button that needs to be ADDED to the self-serve. PERIOD!
Especially now that you don't have the option of building a custom plan and can't make a **minor** change to renew with a 'new' plan...and there's nobody to call and have them do it over the phone.
Moderators -> Developers -> NEW FEATURE ADDED = actual problem solving.

Public Mobile does not publish real time information. SIMon will give you a canned response that things are trending well. If community members are asked, the conservative response is given. Not an ideal situation unfortunately. So, if you go into this with lowered expectations, then it is much easier to be satisfied.

Moderator wait time is up to 2 days. With the new ticket system, I got moderator reply in 1 day. YMMV

Yes correct. It's anywhere from a few hours up to 2 days response time.
