Hello,

 

I am a student currently paying the $25 plan every month which includes unlimited talk and text and 500mb of data although, for the last 3 months $15 extra every month for more data.  Which I did not add and I personally cannot afford it. Please email me or contact me regarding this issue because I need my money back and this isn't okay. Also for the month of January the public mobile people took out 28 dollars twice in the same month which is not okay. I really need my money .

The $5 charge on the $15 plan is not for data. The 250mb of data for autopay is hard coded to the plan and is free. The $5 in addition to the $10/30 day plan amount is for 100 outgoing minutes.

To simplify - all of public mobile's currently offered plans separate the data and talk/text component into two buckets on your payment history. They likely do that for their own internal accounting purposes as customers cannot just choose one or the other.

 

With the $15 plan, 10 is to the "plan" and 5 is to the data/talk component.

 

With the $25 plan 10 is to the "plan" and 15 is to the data/talk component

 

The same rationale holds for the $30-$50 plans where 10 goes for plan and the rest for data/talk component.

Hi @aanthires being a student is difficult enough specially this time of covid-19.  Kudos to you!

 

I think the above posts from fellow customers had already answered your question about billing.  You are not paying extra.  Your $25 plan is broken this way in your payment section -

$10 for your data plan

$15 for your unlimited Canada-wide minutes

and if you register a credit card for autopay you get $2 credit every 30-day cycle, so you only pay $23 (plus taxes) every 30-day cycle.

 

Please note that this is a public forum so please do not post any personal info or any image or screenshot of your account as it may contain personal information that fraudsters can steal.  Unless of course, you know how to black out personal information.  A lot of customers don't and inadvertently post personal information in the forums thinking they are talking to Public Mobile representative (called moderator here).

On your credit card for January as already explained by @Anonymous  if you were charged twice 30 days apart this is normal as that month has 31 days and your billing cycle is always 30 days so this can happen occasionally in months that have 31 days. It also means you can sometimes get no charge in February as it only has 28/29 days.

 

Also looking at your credit card charges for public mobile your plan price is $25 that appears as your total plan amount in your account but on your credit card it will appear as $28 ($25+$3 tax=$28) if your provincial tax rate is 12%.

 

In your payment history the $25 plan is charged as follows:

 

  • 30-day plan/forfait du 30 jours........................$10.00
  • 500MB at 3G Speed/Mo à la vitesse 3G..........$15.00

 

The total amount charged for your plan is $25. Do you have an extra charge for a 1GB Data add on at 3G speed......$15? Does your credit card also show an additional charge for $16.80? ($15+$1.80tax=$16.80)

 

If you do not have these additional charges then everything is being charged normally. However if you are registered for autopay as it seems you are....then you should be recieving the the autopay reward of $2 each month making your credit card charge every 30 days $23+$2.56 tax=$25.56 and your account should show your data details as 500MB+500MB ( autopay bonus)........0/1024 (=1GB).

@Anonymous  the issue is likley a mis understanding of reading the  payment history, until there is clarification from the original poster your generic  contact mods macro is not necessary. 

 

also the preferred method to contact mods is to submit a ticket  via SIMon the chatbot, not private message.  please consider updating it.

 @aanthires : Are you possibly looking at your Payment history and seeing $15 for data? Are you wondering what the other $10 line is?

It's possible to pay twice in a calendar month due to the fact this place has 30 day terms. So you could pay on the 1st and the 31st.

You can also save a couple bucks just for setting up a payment card for autopay. It can be one of those prepaid gift cards. And for that you also get another 500mb of data.
