I bought a senior phone for my mom and it's got an EGPS and the phone is mostly in the house and the EGPS doesn't work inside having tried it myself. Why does she have 5.50Mb gone already?
Would texting also eat up Mb?
She doesn't have internet on that phone as it is a senior phone and mainly used as a phone
not a smartphone, but 5.50Mb is a lot for texting an EGPS that's not functional inside and it's on a 3G
not extraordinaire for internet.
The phone is an easyfone Chaperon T-300 it's a great phone for seniors but using data like
that it's beyond me. I want to be able to track what causes the data to be used so she won't go
over her plan

Believe you me my mother is not that savy to it the data limit. With most of the answers
I've got here I'm pretty confident that the used data are peanuts and she won't go over
and someone mentioned that if by mistakes the data are busted she won't be charged
for the extras as the datas simply won't work until the next cycle so that satisfy me

Just background data - that's really a very small amount.

Not SMS as would be the case on that phone, but iMessage would if it's being used with data and not Wi-Fi (not a concern for her with that device)

Best thing about pre-paid, is there are NO SURPRISE charges. One can only use what they've pre-purchased, and cannot be billed extras - ever.
answers within your original question thread - hope it helps.

BTW...if she somehow hits her data limit...the data will simply stop working until next renewal or you buy a data add-on. Rest assured...she won't be billed for extra data usage later on.
Perhaps she has some of the 2 GB of More is Merrier data that PM gifted us last month.

@NIC37 does it always showing 5MB and not really increase? If it is pretty static at 5Mb, it should be normal
Public mobile uses about a 5.2mb buffer for your mobile data. This gets reset nightly or when you toggle airplane mode on and turn your mobile data
