I'm trying to find out how much it costs to make or receive a phone call while in the Domincan. Can anyone help?

Public Mobile only works in Canada US and Mexico. You can look at getting a DR eSIM if your phone can use them for cheap and then download an app called TextNow and pick a local number to where you live and you can use it over WiFi or data eSIM.  https://www.airalo.com/dominican-republic-esim

sorry @Alane , you cannot.  There is no roaming service in Domincan for PM.  PM only offers roaming in US and Mexico

you have to use local data sim or travel esim for data.  You can downlaod VoIP app TextNow and make and receive phone calls
