Different Canada/US/Mexico plans for subscribers

Hi there, I’m trying to switch to the $35 Canada/US/Mexico plans with 50gb of data from my current $40 / 40gb Canada only plan. It’s not available for me to select even though my other family members could switch. The only plan I can get is a $45/75gb with a bunch of long distance minutes I will never use. Why is this happening?  My other family members were on $34 / 30gb plans before switching so I’m thinking it has something to do with not being able to change to cheaper plans. Is this correct?

@MaaikeV, you mentioned that you currently have the $40 / 40GB Canada only plan, what is the cheapest plan option that is available to you under your manage subscriptions section? Most customers (myself included) seem to have 1 cheaper plan option to select with everything else being more expensive

You are correct, Public Mobile only gives special offers/plans that are at a higher rate than you are currently paying.   If you really want that plan your best bet is to switch to a lower plan then the one you really want, and then wait for the promo (you could also ask them to help you switch, they will help you switch to a more expensive plan, but not a cheaper plan).

Just remember when switching, to select "Change at renewal" otherwise you will waste your current months plan/payment because they wont refund you the difference.

not surpising, PM is now only give selected plans to subscribers to change and that is based on your current plan.  Usually you don't see many plans less than your current value

you want to change to $35 Canada/us/mex plan? do you see the $29 Canadian plan?  if you do , some people said, you can change to that first and the $35 plan will show up after you got the $29 plan.  So, it is not a direct move.   You can use Change Now to quickly change to $29 plan (but no partial refund on your current $40 plan).  Then go back and check, if the $35 roaming plan is there and you don't need it now, you can then schedule the plan change using Change on Renewal and get that plan 30 days later
