I changed my phone plan to a $50 plan but ended up paying the $50 TWICE, how do I get back the extra $50 payed on this new plan?

Welcome to the Public Mobile Community! 🙂
Officially, Public Mobile doesn't allow refunds on top-up amounts. Also, it's probably best to leave it in your account because you'll need this credit for next cycle anyways!
If you did want to reach out to a Public Mobile CS Agent (staff) to ask if they can help you, click on the chat bubble (lower-right corner) to access the SIMon chatbot. If they do allow a refund, it can take a few weeks, at which point you'll be back to where you started, needing that amount for a top-up.
Also, double check - are you seeing this double amount on your credit card bill, or your Public Mobile account? If on your credit card, one charge could be for authorization and will drop off, resulting in only one $50 charge. If you see double in your Public Mobile account, then I'd still consider leaving it for next cycle.
Hope this helps a bit! 🙂

Does your account balance in the top right corner say $0 or $50? because likely the extra $50 is added to your account as credit (if the balance is $50) and you can use it for your next month's payment.
