Data very poor (5G or LTE)

I have posted this problem before . When on data my phone has snail pace speeds. I have re set network settings and also had CS re set my sim . No matter what I do my phone is useless when on data. The only functions that work fine are texting and voice calls. Cut and pasting speed test results.

Another way to put it may be “less expensive”.

@Anerkons

Public mobile is cheaper and should at least offer reasonable usable data service.  It likely won't be good as the Big 3 mobile companies.

I don't bother checking data speeds.  As long as my phone works for day to day usage, I am happy.

CS have been very helpful and have done all they could. As I said I’ll live with my PM plan mainly because of the great deal I have . I’m on  5G plan with 70gb data for only $20/month. Bell rep has told me that not all 5G plans have the same speed and that Bell 5G has more than double speeds but also their price is more than double at $55/month . Also yes , my wife has an iPhone 14 but doesn’t care if she’s on data or wifi as long as it does what she wants. Ha ha ha she told me to keep my hands away from her phone and get a life.

Interesting.  A lot of GTA customers with Public mobile and no major complaints.

Do you have another phone that you can try?  I know that Wifi works well with your phone, but might be an issue with your phone's data connection.

Otherwise, you will need to continue with your conversation with customer service agent.

No matter where I am in the GTA I experience poor data. If I need to check a web page or do a google search I usually park in front of a Tim Horton and connect to their wifi.  I seldom had this problem when I used to be with Bell but will stick with PM because of the great much lower price  deal i have.

Your main location may not be close to nearest Telus/Bell tower.

Check the following cell tower map:

If you have not tried before, manually select LTE network (instead of Auto, or 5G).

Some customers have better service overall with different mobile companies depending on their location and nearest cell tower. For example, one customer may get better service with Rogers, with Telus weaker signal in their main location.

Would just like to know if others are experiencing the same data problem and perhaps what I’m experiencing is normal.  Have just done a speed test when on my home WIFI that shows me that there is nothing wrong with my phone.  I still have an older iPhone 12.

@Anerkons , this is a public forum where customers at large assist other customers.  If you are in touch with support to deal with the data problem, continue to seek their assistance.
