Data usuage

Hello. My changed my plan a few days ago, to 50$ a month, & 8gb of data. It was working perfectly fine a couple of hours ago, until now, when my settings say I’ve uses up all my data within 2 days (which isn’t possible) but when I log into my public mobile app, it says my data is still active, and still have usage. So how come I can’t use my data? 

I have tried to reset my phone and still nothing.

@slash407 first off, from the username @Suzie11 I'm pretty sure "guy" is the wrong word to use.  Second, when you say "reset" are you proposing she reboots her phone or does a factory reset?

If you find that you really are burning through that much data, you might want to go into your application manager to disable most of your apps from running in the background..

8GB is very easy to use up in 2 days.  It depends on what was being done to uae the data.  Downliad file or watching videos can use a lot.  Also, if you came from LTE plan, it is not throttled for a couple days.  

 

I don't know if you really used your data up.  I would suggest for future you set phone to warn you after using certain amount of data.

@Suzie11 first off it is absolutely 100% possible to use up 8GB of data in 2 days.  In fact, if you have an "LTE" speed data plan (vs. the tethered "3G" speed data plans) you could likely use it up in a matter of hours in an area with a strong signal.  But that's beside the point.

 

There is no public mobile mobile app so I'm hoping you mean you're logging into your self-serve account in a web browser?  When you do that, you say you have data remaining?  If you look on the Overview page, do you see a line that lists x,xxx / 8192 MB remaining?  I suspect that @geopublic may be on to something.  You can set a limit in your phone's data usage settings to cut you off after a certain amount of data, and you may have an old limit you forgot was in place, and/or your plan cycle start date may be horribly out of alignment with what the usage tracker in your phone thinks (since the phone is set up to track calendar-monthly plans, while Public Mobile plans are exactly 30 days rather than a calendar month).

@Suzie11 what plan were you on before the change; how much data did you have previously?  If the plan change is the only thing that has changed, and nothing else, we can figure this out. Just need a few more details.

 

What settings say you've used up all your data?

When you log into your self-serve account, how much data have you used out of the 8.5GB?

What phone do you have?  Once we know that, someone can guide you on where to check in the settings to see if there is a data usage limit setup on your phone.

By any chance have you set a hard limit on your phone for data usage? Maybe the data limit was set to what your previous plan allowed for?
